Guest guest
I just had a thought, and I'm wondering if this has been mentioned or researched. African-Americans get PCa at something like 2x the rate of White folks. Lack of vitamin D is implicated in the development of PCa. One purpose of dark skin is to reduce the amount of sunlight entering to convert cholesterol to vitamin D. (15 minutes of sun on 50% of a white persons body will produce about 10,000iu of D) too much D is toxic, so dark skin is common where the sun is the strongest. Could the correlation be due to a greater deficiency of D in African Americans? Just thinking outloud here! Dan
