I would hope that for those not involved, it might encourage you to join or start a local support group. In many locations the American Cancer Society (ACS) supports Man-to-Man support groups. In our city, the ACS recognized that with our very active Us TOO chapter, there was no need to support their own group and rather work closely with us. ACS branches are usually short-handed for volunteers to help them at Health Fairs, so in our city we man displays/tables on behalf of both ACS and our chapter. You, too, could be a big help in this regard in helping out your local ACS. If you are considering starting your own support group, please visit our website www.ustoowichita.org and check out the Index words "How To" with advice on how to start your own Us TOO chapter. Our international offices at www.ustoo.org also stand ready to assist. Our website also provides an explanation on how to be recognized by your Secretary of State and the Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit, charitable organization tax exempt under Section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, as well as how to develop Articles of Incorporation and By-laws.
