Guest guest
hello everyone, It hardly seems real, but a year ago today I went under the knife for my decompression and laminectomy. Some things are better, others are worse. This is the first time in my life that I get headaches everyday. You guys know what they're like-you just can't even function with them. The thing that really has surprised me is that is seems my breathing is affected. I don't know for sure if it's related, but I ha pulmonary function tests done. The therapists was surprised that I was giving a really hard effort but could't get air in or out. My nsg said he's not sure why I have these probs but it may me due to brainstem function. I have a kink in my brainstem but Im not sure if it has always been there or if it is new. I wish I would think of these questions when I'm having the appt instead of later. I'm having ssep's on Thurs then I guess we're go from there! The problem is that I have a hard time getting the docs to take me seriously. I guess what they don't realize is that I have a very strong spirit, but just a weak body. I guess it's hard for others to realize that strong spirit is the only thing that gets people through these things. Well that is my one year post op report. I really hope others who have the surgery do have success and do get better!! Take Care! -- ______________________________________________________
