Guest guest
Thanks, no wonder I couldn't find anything. I googled " high ferritin " . Dorothy > Google: " elevated ferritin " >>
Guest guest
I have an appt with a hematologist in a couple of weeks. Hoping for the best but not expecting much in the way of getting that real iron expert. Dorothy > If you can find a good one it may be time to have a consult iwth a > hematologist. Guest guest
Hi Dorothy, My understanding is it is quite common for Feritin to initally increase when Phlebs are started. This is a good thing as it apparently means that Iron is being pulled from tissues/organs which is what you want to happen. As you continue to Phleb the Ferritin will eventually reduce. How much it reduces is very indiviual too & only time & retesting will tell how quickly it does for you. The trick is to do phlebing at regular frequent intervals in order to keep pulling from tissue accumulations and close enough together so it is done before further Iron loading can happen. Again what is frequent enough depends upon your levels, how quickly you load Iron & how much your Ferritin reduces with each phleb. Have you sought advice from the Yahoo support group? http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/FHHF/message/ Lethal Lee ------------------------------------------------------------------- > > I have an appt with a hematologist in a couple of weeks. Guest guest
Hi Sol, I tried going back over all my links & docs but couldnt find a specific reference. I think I may well have read it on one of the Forum posts when people were talking about their phlebling & maaintenance. You could try posting on the Yahoo Forum they might have reference or could provide personal experience confirming this. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/FHHF/messages Lethal Lee ------------------------------------------------------ > > Hi Dorothy, > > > > My understanding is it is quite common for Feritin to initally increase > > when Phlebs are started.
