Guest guest
Hi Val, Looks like my pulse has gone up. It is now at abut 120 on a regular basis. Higher when standing (134), sitting (120), laying (90). In the past it was around 108. I went to see another docotor who told me this could be due to stress (I am stopping work next week and going on STD), internal dhydration (needing Flournif), and RT3 still in the system. The I switched over to Cytomel completely in May- so the RT3 shoulde cleared. The stress at work (7 hr weeks) has been bad, so I am taking a break to deal with the heart. I will get new bloodwork this week to see where i am at. My concern is that a friend went on Floournif and put on 27lbs of water in 2 weeks. Last time I tried salt (1 tsp -of the good stuff) I ended up putting on 5 lbs of water in one day and my pulse did not go down. Should I try lowering the cytomel first? (I am at 50 mg now and my heart was fine at this dose last year). Also, my blood pressure was 124/90 in her offfice and she was alarmed since this is high for me. I am on 25mg of HC now. Should I lower this? Is it possible that I am now on too much HC and it is causing higher BP and Pulse? Prior to geting on meds I had low pulse and very low BP. What causes this high pulse? One doctor said it could be due to a year and 1/2 on HC and now needing Flournif-stating that these are connected. All I know is last year I was fine on 50mg of Cytomel combinded with 20mg of HC. Is it possible that my body wants less of both right now How would you taper down? (Should I also do temps, etc?) I am still at a conic 97.9- though this is better than pior to thyroid meds. Re: hashimoto's questions 1. does hashi's mean the thyroid is too big or too small?Neither. It can enlarge in an effort to make enough hormones or it can shrink whne you take thyroid hormones as it is not being used. 2. what is a normal thyroid size in cubic centimeters or total volumein mL.I have no idea. 3. what does it mean when the thyroid is infected? Why is itinfected? Does the infection ever go away?Never heard of a thyroid being infected. 4. do all thyroid glands with hashi's eventually die?YES. Hashi's antibodies will destroy the htyrid gland EVERY time. 5. if the antiobody count (TPO) goes back to a normal range does thatmean the hashi's is gone? Can /does the TPO ever go back to a normalrange? No once you have positive antibodies you ALWAYS will have Hashi's but it can go into remission where antibodies are low and inactive. 6. do all people with hashi's have one or both frees below normal orcan low normal be common as well? The lab ranges for thyroid hormones i VERY skewed! It has been lowerd numerous times over the last 50 years as the average thyroid levels of the general population have lowered as more folks are hypothyroid now than ever before. Many of us never get beliow range iwht thyroid levels before seeking treatment, and still are very hypothyroid. 7. what exactly is a hashi's 'flare up'? Who gets them and why? Symptoms?A Hashi flare up or Hashi attack is when the antibodies multiply and attack the thyroid gland. As they do this the gland it self can become tender to the touch, or swollen, but may not too. During these atacks, the thyroid hormones can be released in sporadic amounts as chunks of thyroid gland are destroyed and release their stored hormones into the bloodstream. Some people even run a fever with it, most do not. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WVhttp://www.stopthet hyroidmadness. com/http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ NaturalThyroidHo rmonesADRENALS/http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ RT3_T3/
