Just for fun - I've been enjoying testing this cookbook. It's been hard to find decent non-dairy, non-gluten, non-inflammatory, etc. recipes. Guest guest
Have you tried ordering it directly from lymebook.com? If you're not successful, you could email Rosner directly--his company published it. Use the contact info on lymebook.com. Guest guest
There are many dishes that are great that have no wheat or sugar. I cut out sugar completely and wheat for pasta i use another grain(not rice noodles which are horrible for past) but spelt i think its called it taste like regular pasts. but even that i rarely eat. Eggplant makes a good dish that is vegetarian and filling, it feels like a main dish, and i eat alote of broth now, i uske turkey legs with celery and onion for flavor you can also add herbs to it as chinese do. Soup broth is amazing nutricious and i never feel blouted or sick from it. its a good diet food too especially turkey broth which is better then chicken. turkey aslo has seratonin i think. Cutting out sugar was a bit strange in the begining but now i really have no craving for it and feel much better, my moods aslo are much more stable. Wheat was a disaster for me, i was constipated, sick, blouted and felt tired and heavy. Wheat is the worst thing i can eat, i sometimes eat a small amount of rye bread which taste better anyway, but even that i eat very little of. boiled meat from soup is good. I don t think you need a cooking book to be able to cook dishes that do not have wheat or sugar. It just takes practice and becomes habbit forming. i really don t miss either one of those things, sugar or wheat. and not eating them is not a problem or work. You will feel much better, besides wheat is now genetically grown and who knows what other illneses it causes. I do sometimes buy a juice with articfical sweetner which in never did before it has 10 calories per 250 ml serving so not fattening at all. i drink little of it, but if i have a craving for sweet i drink that. Guest guest
Hi Damarise, Did you know that spelt is an ancient form of wheat? Many people who are sensitive to " modern " wheat can eat spelt. But for those of us who are sensitive to gluten, spelt is a no-no. Also eggplant, which is a member of the nightshade family, can increase inflammation, although I love it (also tomatoes, peppers and potatoes). We have found a new gluten-free pasta made from brown rice and quinoa flour--the brand is Andean Dream, which also makes cookies we like (they do contain some sugar though). I would never use artificial sweetener in anything! My husband likes organic Cranberry-apple-pomegranate, which we have also served to guests and they find it sweet enough. I agree, you do not necessarily need a cookbook to prepare healthy & tasty food. But sometimes when you're starting a new way of eating, a cookbook can be very useful.
