I will get violently ill for 3-6 months after each General Anesthesia. After the third time my Colonoscopy was done with Propofol only and after that I was OK, no problems with Lyme. Propofol is out of the system so quickly that I woke up a few times, but did not feel anything. I did not need to wait for the Anesthesia to wear off, so I could go home right away.

Good luck.

Hello all,

I've had an abdominal pain below my sternum (around the xiphoid process) for quite some time now, which has recently gotten worse so my naturopath recommended I get an endoscopy to find out what's going on.

I was however concerned that the anesthesia drugs might cause a lyme flare-up or worsening of symptoms.

Does anyone have any experience with being anesthetized with an active infection?

Best,

jared

I love propophol. I too had it for endoscopy and colonoscopy. I sleep great and wake like I have been out for hours (yet its only 20mins). I can see why michael jackson used it. Although it is only good if you are going under for a short period of time.
