Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to this group. I am starting all T3 (Cytomel) after having stopped all thyroid meds because of high RT3. I have been looking but can't find any best dosing instructions. For example, how far apart from food/medications does the dose need to be taken? How many doses per day/time of day? and how much total for best results? Thank-you, Diane
Guest guest
It is the same as any thyroid med. Take it an hour before or two hours after eating or you can take it sublingually to avoid the food conflicts. I usually take mine sublingually thne it doesnt; matter eating too close to dosing a I had to diose 4 tim4es a day for best results. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Hi Val- I know you didn’t have any luck with SRT3, but some do well with it. Would you also suggest this be taken well away from food? Same 1 hour before / 2 hours after? Is it OK to take it near HC or pred? I just started SRT3 today but probably only waited 30 to 45 minutes before eating (and ate a light breakfast). My temps are way down today so maybe the Armour was doing me some good. I know I have to give it some time. Sure would be nice to find the “sweet spot” with all of this. Thanks, Dana From: RT3_T3 [mailto:RT3_T3 ] On Behalf Of It is the same as any thyroid med. Guest guest
As the capsulre opens into th intestinal tact I owuld think food or no food would not matter so much but I am really not sure. You can take HC with any thyroid meds. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Same ball park, but for what it's worth Dr. Lowe told me that on an empty stomach T3 is 100% absorbed.AGRe: Dosing T3Posted by: "Steve" dudescholar4@... dudescholarThu Dec 25, 2008 8:15 am (PST)My understanding is that T3 is 95% absorbed regardless of stomach contents, empty or full. T4 however needs stomach acid.Steve
Guest guest
I dose T3 3 times a day. Mostly even doses. Am getting ready to dose more in the a.m. when my cortisol is the highest. See how it goes and let you know. It is nearly impossible to dose T3 often away from food. AGI don't know if anyone else has found this. I tried a couple of daysago to dose less frequently and found I needed more HC. I am much morelevel there with smaller doses.Dorothy
