Guest guest
I had my appt with the Endo's today and they told me I should not be on NT and never should have been. I'm hyper she said. She had no explaination as to why it made me feel better (when things didn't go to pot on me). So no T3 I asked why I had high RT3 and she didn't know. I also asked if I was not going to get anymore NT what are they going to do about it when I really fall apart and she didn't know. She said that my problem is not that easy so I asked why I was even seeing her if she could not treat me. She is off to discuss this with the Head and wanted to know if a letter would be ok. I said no I would not be fogged off with a letter and that was a cop out. Totally lab obsessed. She was not happy that my TSH was supressed. What am I going to do. I am getting to the stage that I can't tolerate the NT now, I am needing another reduction. Each time I do I feel a little better but I still get hypo symptoms. Got no idea what to do really. Maybe I should get of the NT and see what happens. Thanks Margo
Guest guest
Have you thought about self treating? I hate to recmmend this to people but DAMMIT it is an option when you run out of doctors to try. So sorry this bimbo wasn't able to help you -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
How can I self treat. I can't get the medication into the country. I worried about what I am going to be like when I can't take Nt anymore. I'm now down to 120mg and I am stil experiencing those adjitation symptoms from RT3 (I think that's what you said) The doctors might?are going to get what they want as far as me not taking thyroid medication I reckon I'll be off it in 2 weeks the way things are going. What happens with the RT3 after that will it come out on it's own by itself. I can see my life going down the toliet. I really have no where to go. Our money has gone to my health and we a broke. My family is not much better of either. We don't own a home to sell to get money. Gloom and doom is setting in very quickly and that scares me I am moodie and unhappy now and suggested to my husband to go build a better life for my son without me. Life in our house is just not nice. It's not fair on them. What can I take? Thanks Margo > > Have you thought about self treating? Guest guest
Hi Margo, firstly, (((((((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs!!!))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) hang in there honey, you are not alone, ok? secondly, endos and hospitals are the last place you will get good care for your thyroid problems, unless you are one of the maybe 5-10% who had standard high TSH hypoT and responded to T4 only meds (but unlikely to respond for more than a few years that way)... failing being one of those people, stay away from endos - these guys taking away your HC is nuts, it is however, to be expected from an endo. Far better in Oz and NZ to find a competent GP to treat to resolution of symptoms. Endos are virtually always a dead end for us. thirdly, have you contacted new zealand customs with the links I gave you before? It is legal to import thyroid medications including T3 into Australia, particularly as the bottles are sealed and meet medical standards, it's the herbals and so on that are usually harder to get in, due to concerns with disease and agriculture / unique wildlife etc. - please confirm the status in new zealand before writing that idea off completely, k? If these guys have made you feel that you are a difficult case or have made you lose hope, do turn that around, that is standard jabber from endocrinologists, there are plenty of us in the high RT3, peripheral resistance, T3 only thyroid group in Australasia, endos are just too closed minded to recognise us, and certainly too stubborn to treat us properly. Pity I can't fly you to Adelaide where we could look after you :- ) .. maybe one day? ((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))) > > > > > > Have you thought about self treating? Guest guest
Thanks everyone I plan to stay in the group, you guys are marvellous. I have an appt with the head of Endos coming up so I just have to hope that he will listen. I very much doubt it. There was an info on the tv the other day(I missed it) about adrenal insufficency, with Dr and he poo pooed it) I have recently found someone in another city (Dr Bill er) and he seems to know about RT3. I have sent him a brief on my medical history, so hopefully he can see what's gone wrong. I have to save my pennies as his appt is $200 an hour and $55 per 1/4. He suggested if medication is required then I have to get some money to go to Hamilton. The closet I can get to Adelaide is Brisbane or Hevery Bay and will be that way Next August so if you can suggest someone in that are would be great. I must admit I never rung customs but I must do that. Does someone have the list of suppliers? It's pretty scary to think I might get of NT which is happening anyway but have the hospital suggest to my doc that I should not have it all. Anyway it will work out I am sure but just not looking forward to being a wreck. Thank you for listen to me rant on you have all been great. I must mention to that I am not on HC. I weaned off that for testing and never picked it back up again. Val thought I might get away with Licorice root so giving that a go at the moment. Guest guest
That's fantastic news!! I do have a great doc in Brizzie,- however, she mostly uses NTH, probably worth an international call and see if she uses tertroxin (betting she does though) and one in Sydney too, Brisbane probably better from what you are saying though... will send the details in an email to you offlist. Believe it or not, there is even an ENDOCRINOLOGIST in Brisbane who is not against T3 nor NTH... must be coz their water isn't fluoridated yet, they still have some brains in Queensland :-) sorry I misinterpreted re; the HC, oh and I realised after I typed that saying " Australasian group " what I meant was there are plenty of us in the southern hemisphere who are in the same boat, rather than talking about separate groups... but what comes out when I type isn't always how I would best phrase it in a perfect world, many apologies :-) Good luck with the head of endos... head of dead ends would be my prediction for that particular outing, I hope I'm wrong, and not wanting to be negative but with love and respect suggesting mentally projecting full body armour for that encounter, if " head of endo's " is negative, please don't let it stop you moving forward with your other avenues. :-) Margo, you are forging a road in your country that is truly hard going, but you are paving the way for others who will come after you, I'm very proud of you, please be proud of yourself too :-) Go you trailblazer you!!! :-) > > > > Hi Margo, > > > > firstly, > > (((((((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs!!!))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) > > hang in there honey, you are not alone, ok? > > > > secondly, endos and hospitals are the last place you will get good > > care for your thyroid problems, unless you are one of the maybe 5- > 10% > > who had standard high TSH hypoT and responded to T4 only meds (but > > unlikely to respond for more than a few years that way)... failing > > being one of those people, stay away from endos - these guys taking > > away your HC is nuts, it is however, to be expected from an endo. > Far > > better in Oz and NZ to find a competent GP to treat to resolution > of > > symptoms.
