Quite a few posts on here concerning the recovery and longer term

experiences, sit down and spend a couple hours reading the various

posts. But your experience may, and probably will, vary from someone

else's.

Buddy,

I have been running a site for newly

diagnosed men for the past ten years or so. I called it YANA

– You Are Not Alone Now and it is at http://www.yananow.net

The first part of the site gives basic

information, with links to more technical sites, about the diagnosis and treatment

choices available. You might find it useful to review the links for surgery at http://www.yananow.net/choices.htm#radical

because there are some papers about erectile issues.

But your best resource would be to read

the stories of other men who have had a prostate cancer diagnosis. These are

indexed on http://www.yananow.net/Experiences.html

by choice of treatment, although you can access indexes of the stories by PSA, Gleason

and Date of diagnosis. If you only read one story, look at Glen ’s

at http://www.yananow.net/Mentors/GlenL.htm

He pulls no punches, but I have had many men saying that this is the

information they have been looking for.

Good luck.

All the best

Terry Herbert

I have no medical

qualifications but I was diagnosed in ‘96: and have learned a bit since

then.

My sites are at www.yananow.net and www.prostatecancerwatchfulwaiting.co.za

“Snuffy” Myers : " As a physician, I am painfully aware that most of

the decisions we make with regard to prostate cancer are made with inadequate

data "
