Guest guest
How old are you and have you had your thyroid checked? When you say low fat diet what do you mean by that, do you eat any healthy fats? How much fruit do you eat and what kinds? I'm 35, have not had thyroid checked, but have spoken to my dr about getting that done. Fats I do eat include avocado, olive oil and incidental fats in foods I eat. As far as fruits I eat pretty much any fruit I can get that's organic, I eat a lot of organic veggies, and protiens from vegetable and legume sources. Currently, I take a general prenatal suppliment because I am still breastfeeding my daughter. Plus I drink at least 100 oz of distilled water everyday. I've never had a weight issue before now. Guest guest
The test that the doctors do for thyroid is not that accurate. You can do a check your self by taking your temp under your arm every morning before rising. you must lie perfectly still. Record the temps for a few days and if they are low, like 97.2, 97.4 then this would be an indicator that your thyroid is low. Mine was 97.2 for years. I would never consider taking synthroid as that can really mess you up bad. I have finally found something that helped me get my thyroid working balanced again, natural supplements are the best and safest way. Make sure you are eating low glycemic, some vegetarians tend to eat lots of high glycemic foods, like tropical fruits, potatoes, rice, pasta. You can become fat eating watermelon as it turns to sugar very quickly and the body cannot get the sugar out of the blood quick enough, will have to produce lots of insulin to try. The excess turns to fat and the next problem you have is blood sugar problems. Beans can also be a problem to digest and its best to not eat them in abundance if at all. As far as the prenatal, you might want to reconsider, what you need before and after the pregnancy are different. There might be too much iron and other things that are not needed now. Are your bowels doing ok? That can have an impact on weight, but I believe that most weight problems are hormonal except of course the weight problems caused by over eating and eating all the wrong foods.
