I experience this whenever I'm in temperatures below 40 degrees, but not other times. So far that's my only complicaton. So in the winter I don't do outdoor walk, go to the mall instead and do my walk there. Is your numbness constant and painful? That could be more serious, due to peripheral neuropathy and can be helped by controlling BGs. I also wear Polartek socks in cold weather. Guest guest
Vicki, Thanks so much for the info.....so far the numbness is not really painful......just an unusual feeling in my feet. The weather here this weekend was below 40 degrees. I will try the warmer socks and will just have to dress warmer for my walks in the winter as the closest mall is 50 miles away. I am still so scared by all of this and I am so happy to have found this discussion list. I have been on disability for depression and anxiety and am now trying to go back to work parttime. So I am trying to stay positive with this diabetes diagnosis.

Guest guest
Caria, somehow deepression and diabetees are linked in many patients. I hope you can get your sugars in line, near 100 most times, you can feel positive that you are in control. Best Wishes, sam

It's been years since I've visited, but we are looking forward to a future trip to that area. It helps so much for us to realize that we can actually have a lot of control over our own destinies ... we can bring about our own health improvement. It's a powerful feeling. Please continue to hang in there, and get better and better each day! Susie ;o)
Guest guest
Susie: Thanks so much for your pats on the back......they mean so much to me. I start to wonder if the nutritionist really knows what is in my best interests? But I guess most of it is up to me! hugs
