Mimi, just to get you through the Thanksgiving feast...do know that you can

have all the turkey you want...all the (green) salad you want. Go light on

the veggies and skip the candied yams. If you're going to bring something,

make a pumpkin pie using Splenda and skip the crust when you eat your piece.

Remember, Thanksgiving is about getting together with family and friends and

giving thanks, not JUST about food (tho it may seem that way!) Vicki

Good show, Robin. And how true.

I'm kinda nervous about the holidays, because I have mono AND type II, and

I've been fainting/dehydrating/unable to keep anything down for the past

week and a half. I'm eating foods in the smallest amounts possible

throughout the day because otherwise my sugars jump above 400.

Yes, I'm seeing my doctor this Friday after Thanksgiving. :-)

But I dread Thanksgiving Day. I'm going to my boyfriend's parents, and I

don't want anything to " happen " .

I wish my sugars were going to be in control over the holidays...heck, I

wish I didn't have mono over the holidays! :-) But it can't rain all the

time, and I'm sure that soon all will be well.

In the meantime, messages such as Robin's really keep *my spirits up. I

mean, we diabetics must stick together, after all!

Mimi, I'm so sorry you're going to be ill this weekend. Hopefully the

doctor will know just what to do (and say) to make you better as quickly as

possible. Keep drinking as much water as you can (Crystal Light or Diet Ice

Botanicals are also good ideas) and feel better soon.

Oh, Thank you, Robin! How kind. Good advice, too, on the drinks--thanks!
