Guest guest
Sy, I wrote a short piece about the basics of PSA for newbies – that’s at PSA 101 http://tinyurl.com/8x6my and you might also like to have a look at the experiment I ran for 28 days some years back My personal PSA variance http://tinyurl.com/cxwj6 to see how much daily variance there might be in PSA levels. As you’ll see over three days my PSA went up by about 35% before dropping back three days later!! All the best Terry Herbert I have no medical qualifications but I was diagnosed in ‘96: and have learned a bit since then. My sites are at www.yananow.net and www.prostatecancerwatchfulwaiting.co.za Dr “Snuffy” Myers : " As a physician, I am painfully aware that most of the decisions we make with regard to prostate cancer are made with inadequate data " From: ProstateCancerSupport [mailto:ProstateCancerSupport ] On Behalf Of sytech Sent: Wednesday, 2 January 2008 1:23 PM To: ProstateCancerSupport Subject: Can the PSA go down? Guest guest
Sy, my husband Gregg became good friends with his neighbor while the two of them were in Loma having their prostate cancers treated with proton beam radiation therapy. The neighbor was a very fit 50 year old whose father had also had prostate cancer. The neighbor's PSA at the time of diagnosis was a little over 9. He put himself on a vegan diet and within a matter of a few months his PSA had dropped by about 3 points. I think that diet plays a pretty big role in the PSA test results. I am cooking minimal amounts of meat at home in the last year. The research tells me that prostate cancer cells love red meat. Good luck with your tests.
