Guest guest
, I will pray that your husband continues to improve daily and the doctor got all the cancer. I will also pray for your health and strength to be strong. PS: I am anxiously awaiting until Feb. 26th for Dan's surgery date. darrylmit@... wrote: Hi: YOu might find the 168 post prostate cancersurgery hints here helpfulhttp://www.malecare.com/prostate_cancer_surgery_patient_hints.htmDarryl--- seabreezemomgrandma<seabreezemomgrandma> wrote:> Just a quick update. Guest guest
-- After my prostate surgery, I got a post-surgical pathology report from my surgeon. Essentially, the pathologist takes the tissue (prostate plus surrounding stuff) removed by the surgeon, and dunks it in black dye. He then slices it up. If _no_ cancer cells are dyed black, he reports " negative surgical margins " -- the surgeon removed all the tumor. If _some_ cancer cells are dyed black, he reports " positive surgical margins " . That is, the tumor had spread beyond what the surgeon removed. My report said " negative surgical margins " . So my surgeon could say with confidence " I got it all. " Do you have a post-surgical pathology report for YDH? If the margins were negative, the " break through the prostate wall " is nothing to worry about. If the margins were positive, the surgeon _didn't_ get all of the tumor. At least, that's the way we understand it. and > > . . . > We saw his doc today, and the staples came out.
