Low ferritin definitly is another cause of high RT3 as is low cortiosl.

If your Ferrtin is low as I susspect it is veyr low for the actual iron

levels to have fallen you wil need ot correct that bvefore starting on

T3 to help clear out the excess RT3.

First off thank you for responding, this group is very informative and really helps a person like me that has no medical background and feel that most doctors will just "check the block".  I guess I will have to get my Ferritin checked. Assuming it is low how do you correct that and would you think I would need to go on T3 or an Armour?

If Ferritin is low I would not start ANY thyroid uintil it i at least

50-60. Then you should orbably retest RT3 levels. If correcting the low

ferritin has not heloed them normalise, thne I would start with oinly

T3. T4 is what RT3 is mnade from so to rid your body of it you need to

literally starve it out at the source which means no meds that contain

T4, including Armour.
