This is the site to get information and you can join this group which

talks about all the things that they are using LDN for

http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/

Lots of information. My son has titers for Chron's as well but was a

huge Flagyl responder. But, he seems to have gone back to baseline so,

we did do the 6 weeks of Pred which helped but once we went off he went

back. Now, we are doing 3 months of 10 days each month of Flagyl and

he is responding to that but we have had some bad days. I've also

started him on LDN at this time as well because I am looking for

anything to help and I do not want Flagyl to be a long term thing.

Before starting the Flagyl - the LDN did help his GI issues but I

cannot say how much.

I have a group of children with Crohn's as well as

some adults now on LDN (besides hundreds of ASD

children); all are doing well and all have been weaned

from the prednisone needed before the LDN. I routinely

do a stool analysis and organic acid analysis

(required for the children, optional for the adults)

before I start LDN, and then treat the almost

ubiquitous pathogen colonization (clostridia or yeast

or both plus usually other dysbiotic flora) along with

starting to wean off prednisone and starting the LDN,

all at the same time. Most are only on LDN after that

initial course of anti-bacterial/anti-yeast treatment,

with recommendations for natural anti-bacterials for

maintenance if diarrhea re-occurs. (often following

dietary excesses/infractions).

The inflammation that accompanies Crohn's is an ideal

mucosal environment for chronic pathogen infestation,

and though LDN is magical for Crohn's, I believe it

should be preceded/accompanied by treatment for the

usually long-standing pathogen infections to be given

the best chance to work. Dr. JM
