Guest guest
I know most will not understand but due to my increase in my PSA count which was gaining numbers I nor the Urologist liked. On my last visit I decided to have the de'vincci method performed. Minimal blood loss. Did have six puncture wounds in lower abdomen from one sie too the other. The procedure was just under four hours. My Cardiologist cleared me for surgery after test done on heart regarding my A-Fib. My Urologist would not touch me until he was certain I would stay out of A-Fib during this long procedure. I checked in the Hospital at 5:00AM on the 30th of April and left May 1st in the afternoon. I was on Morphine drip plus Oxycontin 5mg (worthless) medication at that small dose. I did find out that Oxycontin is the genetic form of percocet which runs from 5mg-325mg. The most pain was the puncture holes one extending from my left side to the gland itself. plus five others. The swelling was as though I was six months pragnant. At my age of 67, and due to my increase in PSA I decided to go for the operation. The whole gland was removed, with any sign of malignancy not visible. Pathologist will have dated report later. I did not know that I was not to drive, nor ride, but increase my activities over a period of thirty days. I have been doing the exercises to strength the bladder area to help with incontinence. We are all different when it comes to that. The Urologist did mention types of medication he can help me with. But not worried about that at tis time. If I have been in my early seventies I would not have had this operation nor no other procedure. The Proton Beam Therapy was out of my league, which University Hospital In Birmingham will study research regarding that treatment. Friends it all boils down to one fact. Some of us will get cancer but as my Dr. said, and he is in a huge research grant and we find out that most of it will boil down to genetics. Cancer was even mentioned in some of Shakespeare's plays, and in the time of Socrates. 355BC..
