They also get rancid, the oil in them. I find when you buy them put them in

the freezer, then only pull out what you will eat. I used to have exotic

birds and was told to do this for them with their nuts and peanuts in a

shell, etc. We eat peanuts all the time, but they're pre-frozen. I don't

know if freezing kills the mold though. I just know it keeps them from

getting rancid.
