Guest guest
Hi Barry, Here is Dale's post explaining laying on left/right sides. I thought his explaination for laying on left side seemed logical, and worth a try for calcified stones: " Perhaps I can help you to understand this better. If you take note of the position of the gallbladder, in the area just below the liver, it's neck is notably facing towards the left side. Since the gallstones do float it is more likely to place the stones at the neck of the gallbladder if someone is laying on the right side having the left side up and therefore the neck of the gallbladder up too. This then facilitates the stones departure into the Common Bile duct with greater ease. .....At least that is the theory. Therefore if someone has a calcified stone, which is heavier than a cholesterol stone, then it would only make more sense to lay on the left side. Thereby there is an attempt to try get the stone in the neck of the gallbladder to have it displace into the Common Bile duct when the gallbladder convulses. Guest guest
<<I still haven't heard anyone explain why Dr. Hulga suggest laying flat on back and Dr. and others suggest right side>> Barry, I talked to Chang one day for a long time and we talked about the positioning. She just said that lying on the right side wasn't a proven thing. I always would lie on my back with my head up high. laura ----- Original Message ----- From: " barry91162 " <barry91162@...> <gallstones > Sent: Saturday, January 12, 2002 6:48 PM Subject: Re: FLUSH #3 RESULTS... > Thanks Adrienne, > > I may wait one month now to do my fourth flush.
