Guest guest
Rose, your post about your painful neuropathy caught my eye. There's been a lot on another list I belong to (LC-D) about relief from neuropathy using ALA/GLA and evening primrose oil. You can read the archives without joining the list...as subject line you could put in " neuropathy " and everything should pop up. It sounds like a lot of people have gotten relief with this. The archives URL is http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/LC-DIABETES.html Good luck. Vicki
Guest guest
Anne, I'm sorry to read about your diabetes. When I was dx'd 5 years ago I weighed 260 pds, also. This January it was down to 185, now it is 125. It can be done! My blood sugars have gone from 400-600 to 80-130 now. That's the good news, the bad news is painful neuropathy. I thought diabetics went numb in their feet. Nothing could prepare anyone for the intensity of unbelievable torture. It has just about driven me insane, if there was someone to look after the 4 best kids in the world, I'd check out just to get away from this agony. No, I won't. My responsibilities keep me from it but I have an appreciation for suicides where enormous pain is involved. I went to the doctor last Friday begging for relief. He gave me aspirin. Monday, I was on his doorstep begging, crying, pleading for relief. He gave me a prescription for Amitriptylin. It worked I hadn't slept for very long, for almost a week so I spent Monday and Tuesday sleeping. I started noticing that I was having massive problems walking Wednesday. I had been having problems before but not to this extent. I noticed that the pain was in my hands now and the lower part of my head. My feet and legs have turned so blue and so has my hands and arms. My kids say that the area around my lips is very blue and to top it off I suddenly (almost overnight) can't hear very well. I can't change my elevation because I faint. I've got a 9:30 appt. in the morning. Hopefully, they will take care of me before I lose my job. Wow, what a pity party! However, if any of you have neuropathy in your future, get your levels under control. I swear pain does an amazing job of converting you.
