Guest guest
Rhonda, Yes, just count the carbs. They do have some fillers, so they have a small amount of carbs. And they are pretty salty too. Terry
Guest guest
Sherry, Make your own whipped cream using Splenda or equal and you should be fine. Don't use cool whip as it has sugar and loads of carbs. Yes, you can have it as long as you go easy on the cream and count the carbs. Whipping cream has 6.6 carbs per cup, pre-whipping that is. As to the cholesterol, I wouldn't worry about it for awhile. If you didn't have blood work done prior to starting, you might as well wait a couple of months or so. Initially you may have a slight rise in cholesterol, but if you are doing things right, cholesterol will usually go down. Yes, even if you are eating eggs every day, though personally, I don't know why anyone would want to. Can you tell I hate eggs? LOL BTW, some of you may remember that I had my blood work done not too long ago. Well, I got my results last week. I was in normal ranges on absolutely everything. I can't find what I did with my prior results to compare, but I remember there were 2 flags on the previous one. They were on some really obscure reading though. Nothing major, like cholesterol. Guest guest
Sherry, It sounds like Communion to me, and I have always taken Communion with no problem. Although, personally, I wish they served Diet Pepsi and a hunk of ham instead. LOL I would have preferred that pre-Atkins too. Guest guest
Let me guess.... Holy Communion? I asked this same thing a few months ago. The general consensus was... Go for it! Guest guest
Just remember to watch that it doesn't set off sweet cravings. Also, since it is not part of a meal, any insulin that is produced will dissipate before it can store any fat. HJ ----- Original Message ----- good. I was kinda scared to ask because then it'd be like, DIDN'T YOU READ THE BOOK! No bread/crackers or juice! But in this case. I'm doing it out of respect
Guest guest
In the beginning of this WOE, I often questioned this on Sundays. I made the personal decision to accept the tablespoon of grape juice and nickel size piece of bread... they don't seem to have any impact on my ability to stay true to this WOE. Guest guest
I see DR. Ackerman, who has written a book on RSD. He has been very good for me. About 6 months ago he got a nurse named Ann ( the nurse from H_ _ _ ) ! She comes in and does the initial writing in the file & then he comes in does his visit and leaves and she finishes up the visit, brings samples, prescription etc.. Now she is encouraging everyone to make appointment with her and just get your prescription instead of seeing the doctor. Which if fine, if that is all you need that visit. The following are the things that have happened since she has been there: 1. He sticks his head in the door, after seeing me, and says we found the sample you need. She comes in and says there are no samples. 2. Next visit, she brings in samples and I say, he forgot to tell me how to take the medicine. She says just take one in the morning and if that doesn't help give us a call. Well, during the next two weeks I call and get only Ann's voice mail. I leave messages. No one returns the call. 3. This visit he sets up the Doppler test. I go to hospital to have test and they have something completely different they are going to do. Ann has sent in the wrong paper work. So I insist that we call DR. Ackerman. Finally, get that straighten out. 4. This time she has the medicines that I take written down wrong in the file. She says your suppose to be taking 8 of this medicine a day and I say no that is for break through pain only. Any way she tells DR. Ackerman that I am not taking my meds right and he gets mad at me. I tell him that is NOT the way he had it written and he says well that is the way it is written in the chart. ( Ann strikes again). Anyway, she comes back about 10 minutes later with my prescription, and two of my meds are left completely off. I tell her, she rolls her eyes and says I'll check. 30 minutes later I am still waiting and I can hear her out there just laughing and talking. I open the door and walk out I am so mad. So I do without 2 prescriptions. But I go to the drug store and get a print out where it says this med is for break thru pain only (not 8 a day like Ann said). Anyway I have a complete list for the last year of all the meds he has given me! 5 Next visit Ann comes in..starts going over meds. Well this time when I tell her what I take she said well you never got this medicine from here (different medicine this time). I said yes, DR. Ackerman writes a prescription for it, she said no he doesn't it is not in the file. Little does she know THIS TIME I have with me and have the list of the medicine from the drug store for the last year. So I don't argue I just wait for DR. Ackerman. We have our visit and then takes over. Telling DR. Ackerman with me piping in, just what Ann is doing etc.. Shows him the sheet from Drug store and tells him about me not getting the 2 meds last time. He says, well that is important medicine (about the 2 I didn't get). About the break thru pain meds he says, Yes, that is good to not take more than you need and use it for break thru pain. About the med that is not in the file this visit which shows him he has written before, he says, hum...not in the file? It was really kind of funny, because he kept trying to back out and would say " Don't leave me yet, I have more to say. " So he would listen once more. In the end he copied down list that she had made out of the meds I am suppose to be taking. So this time Ann brings in the correct prescription. BUT he says he is going to try me on a new medicine and will give me a months samples. Dear sweet Ann brings me in 10 days worth of samples which I didn't catch until I was at home. Now last week had teeth hurting. Went to dentist. Roots are growing up in sinus, so have to go to oral surgeon. Oral surgery will be performed, before I go back to DR. Ackerman. So I called about getting a block. Of course, you have to go through Ann. I explain very nicely about what I need. She says " Now what is RSD " ? I explain nicely. She said she would check with DR. She just called me back and said he said you would be in hospital and just have them do the block. I SAID " NO MARY ANN!! I told you I would not be in the hospital because it was cheaper to do the surgery in the office. She said, " well, I couldn't remember but knew it was some kind of dental work. If it is not in the hospital, just go ahead and do it without the block. " I said, " Would you please tell DR. Ackerman that I want a block, because I do not want the RSD to spread. " She said, well, that is his call. If I don't call you back, you know everything will be fine and just go ahead. I AM SO MAD AT HER! She never gets anything straight. So I tried to call DR. Ackerman and can not get anything but Ann's voice mail. Anyway, I know I can't shoot her, but other than that I am open to suggestions on how to handle this.........person? Ha Anyway, have called oral surgeon to try to get block from him, but Medicare would pay for it through Ackerman. Hope everyone is having a low pain day. your friend, cookie
Guest guest
Hi Dorthe, This site presents a promising alternative treatment for UC: http://www.webspawner.com/users/ecsuctx/index.html With best wishes, Dudley Delany http://profiles.yahoo.com/dudley_delany
Guest guest
Dorthe, I eat cheese almost every day, and yogurt occasionally with no ill effects. Remember, everyone is different. You must do what works for you. My best suggestion, is to watch your MS symptoms closely for 30 min - 48 hours after you eat yogurt. If you don't have a reaction or an increase in your symptoms or intensity, then you should be fine. Guest guest
I am afraid I do not fit that shoe. I eat icecream and yoghurt. I just do not like milk and so I don't drink it. No diet has cured MS as far as I know Benka > > I realize that you all agree more less on not eating or drinking dairy > products. Guest guest
Dear Dorthe I think people told you to eat yogurt because its a food with healthy microflora in it. But you can just take microflora pills and not worry about eating dairy. I have read too many postings from people who say removing wheat and dairy made a significant difference, that I have to believe it. We gave up dairy and gluten about 8 months ago, and there has definitely been a reduction in symptoms of everyone. Not the cure for us, but helpful. Heidi N As I have UC and been told to eat lots of yogurt. So any help wold be appreciated and any insight Dorthe in BC ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
