Guest guest
We had our Solstice celebration Friday night, and it was so beautiful. We added something different this year-- the teens raffled off a three-story gingerbread pagoda and made almost $500 for Heifer International. This year, our procession of Sante Lucias( who wear wreaths of candles and carry yules logs and star cookies and serve them to the partygoers), were long-haired teenaged boys. We renamed them the Lucianos. They were so serious and solemn, it was sweet. The house is always so lovely lit only with candles. Right before the procession, Jack Frost came in, clad in white and tiny bells, and sprinkled "frost" everywhere. Then "Darkness," who is all in black, stumbled around as though lost. Then the candlelit boys walked in, and it lit up the whole room. One of them played the celtic harp and another the fiddle. Later that night, all the teenagers(who are fine musicians and actors) played music together 'til who knows when. It gives me so much hope to see these children--such talented, artistic, peaceful beings-- commited to doing good in the world. They truly embody the spirit of the season. May you all find light in your lives this season~ Bindi
Guest guest
Bindi, Sounds like my son, committed to peace, artistic, peaceful (mostly, except for his divorce). I am glad you had such a lovely ceremony. Lynda At 11:03 AM 12/24/2006, you wrote: >We had our Solstice celebration Friday night, >and it was so beautiful.
