FDA guidelines are 40%, but those are only guidelines and the surgeon has the option of doing the implant outside of those guidelines. Could you please explain to me what this CID sentence test is? Just curious. Thanks.
Guest guest
Kay, The ESP sounds very interesting. Is it only used with profoundly deaf children? Just wondering, because I think should have a test like that and his loss is severe/severe-profound. What limits its use to profoundly deaf children? Thanks, Dixie p.s. And where can I find out more about the test? >That's where they listen to a sentence played on a tape recorder and, I >believe, point to a picture that shows what the sentence is about (out of a >number of pictures). That's where they listen to a sentence played on a tape recorder and, I believe, point to a picture that shows what the sentence is about (out of a number of pictures). I believe it is a component of: ESP: The Early Speech Perception test battery is a test of speech perception for profoundly deaf children as young as 3 years old.The ESP may be used to establish objectives and to measure effects of a hearing aid or a cochlear implant in terms of their impact on the child's speech perception ability. Go here: http://www.cid.wustl.edu/ Select " online store " , then " tools and curricula " to find out more. I don't know what limits it's use. That's a question you may want to ask CID.
