? Does

anybody know about Auditory Neuropathy? I forget if that is what is

indicated when the ABR is normal and the audiogram is not - or CAPD?

I believe from the way Eugene explained it to me and if my memory and typing

serve me right at 1:30 am, The ABR is normal but the OAE (?) is abnormal.

My children have had the ABR but not the OAE (yet). When my son was first

tested in the booth at 18 mths. they told me his hearing was fine, not sure

how they could tell because he ran around in circles the whole time. One

year later after he had completely stopped talking they did an ABR which

showed his moderate-severe loss in his right ear and severe-profound loss in

his left. By the way the OAE is some kind of emissions test I believe.

Maybe someone else has a better memory than me. I'm about a week late

anyway, sorry.

That's backwards. Recently Orla sent me a link to an excellent page on the

subject:

Auditory neuropathy: What is it and what can we do about it?
