Guest guest
Hi all, I don't know how consistently lucid I am but wanted to let you guys know I am home...and have been home since about 6:00. The doctor took all the samples I wanted and has my implants. I just need to decide what to tell him to do about them. He also during the consult and even today gave me the impression he was not going to send me home with antibiotics unless there was a reason. Hence the testing. So here is a question. I saw my capsules and my implants so I know he took them out the right way. He said he got virtually all of the capsule. But my implants were filled with BROWN fluid. Not clear saline. He said that steriod the doctor put in them prior to implantation 12 years ago made the saline turn brown. Can it do this? Most of the implants I have seen in the pictures, once taken out look clear (except for those with mold of fungus). I wonder how I can find out if the steriod turned it brown...it was truly a clear brown fluid. Not debris that I could see. At the end of the day....he sent me home with the antibiotic Keflex. I had already filled the presciption for Vicodin for pain. I was under the impression he was not going to prescribe an antiobiotic for me to take home...but he did. I am glad this is over...the pain is not that bad. The groggines (jello brain) from the anesthesia was worse than the pain and even that is lifting somewhat (since I am posting!!!). So what do you guys think about the brown fluid??? Ever heard that prednisone and antibiotics will turn the fluid this color? My doctor also said the practice some doctors have of putting this in the implants " voids the warranty " ...and he did not agree with this practice. Guest guest
, Congradulations! Your doctor is right . . . Doctors did have a custom of putting something like Betadine in implants for years . . . Seems they knew that stuff grew in the implants and thought that would stop the problem . . . If I remember right, they found that the stuff actually caused the implants to deteriorate more rapidly. The presence of a drug doesn't mean that there isn't some bacteria or staph organisms in your implants though. Apparently he found signs of infection when the capsules were examined. . . He's playing it safe. I'm happy to know you're home and doing well! . . . Keep taking it easy AND drink as much water as possible. Do you have drains? . . . Avoid sugar completely . . . Antibiotics will depress the beneficial organisms so you'll definitely need those probiotics . . . Acidopholis, yogurt, keflir . .. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
