Thanks for all your wonderful words to me during this difficult time of my

sister's illness and death. We got back to New Hampshire this evening - so good

to be home. It was a hard week this last week saying goodbye to my sister.

Both the visitation and the funeral service were very, very nice. My sister was

a kindergarten teacher (her name was Dee Harrold), so it was neat seeing old

friends and also meeting some of the kids she'd taught. She touched many, many

lives. Her own son has hearing loss and I think she lived somewhat vicariously

through Hugh and me and our boys (she would often say she'd wished she'd done

things differently for her son - he's now almost 30!). So for all that she was

a good bit older than me (14 years), we had much in common and were very, very

close - and 57 is way too young to die! The other special thing about her is

that we have the same birthday - October 3 - so that made us that much closer.

Such a huge loss - but appreciate greatly all your nice words and kind thoughts.

You guys are great....

Take care.
