Guest guest
Sandy, Where do you live? Perhaps someone here does live near you and could help you. I know it's rough right now, but the only way to turn your health around is to drop the excess weight, detox and rebuild your immune system. Little changes, like drinking water instead of soda, will greatly help. Making healthier selections at the grocery store will greatly help too. How old is your son? Can the two of you go on little walks together? I give myself B-12 injections from time to time, when I'm feeling tired. In fact, I've done them daily for the past week, at my ND's recommendation. I don't get a boost like many people do, most likely because my diet is pretty balanced. For people who don't eat as well, B-12 injections can help tremendously. Guest guest
Kenda: I'm curious about your B-12 shots. You wrote you sometimes do them yourself daily. Do you get them by prescription or from your ND? Are you deficient or do they just make you feel better? I've been getting them at my doctor's office monthly, but I'm not sure if it's the best thing getting a big dose all at once. KateKenda Skaggs <skaggs@...> wrote: Sandy,Where do you live? Guest guest
Hi Kate, I get my B-12 from my ND. I am using it now because I am deficient. I take high levels of B's orally but due to gastritis I had recently, I have gone to injectable. I have cut back on my supplements while my gut heals. I took a large dose of Ibuprophen several weeks ago for a ruptured ovarian cyst and it caused gut problems. I take 1cc injected daily for a week and then I'll go to 1cc each week for a while. After that, I'll get back on my oral supplements. Have you had any lab work recently? A routine CBC will show if you are deficient. What is the dose your doctor is giving you each month? Guest guest
Hi Kenda: Thanks. I'm not sure what dose of B-12 I've been getting. I was tested about 6 months ago and was deficient, which I think is common with implant illness. My doctor started giving me the shots, thinking it might help some of the remaining neuro symptoms/tiredness. She thought it was unusual for someone my age to be deficient--usually it's elderly people who need them. I was taking sublingual B-12 at the time, which I've read is not as effective as the shots. My symptoms have improved but it could be the supplements/detoxing too. Kate Kenda Skaggs <skaggs@...> wrote: Hi Kate,I get my B-12 from my ND. I am using it now because I am deficient. Guest guest
Hi Kate, I am 46 and don't absorb B vitamins well, for some odd reason. I was never implanted so it isn't implant illness. If I don't stay on my oral B's, I am deficient. If your diet is pretty healthy, you may not notice a change in symptoms/health from the injections. I don't notice any change but I know that I need them based on my labs. Kenda > Hi Kenda: > > Thanks. I'm not sure what dose of B-12 I've been getting.
