Guest guest
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/healthtopics.html This is a good site to look medical things up. I don't know if the twitching is a stills thing or not. My dh is the stills patient. I'm intruding on this post because I was just diagnosed last month with Essential Tremors. Basically I have a tremor that looks similar to Parkinson's but is really very different. I have positional, kinetic and intention tremors. Which means when I write I shake. When my hands are in certain positions I shake and doing exercise or using my hands a lot, like for chopping veggies, I shake. If your doctor decides it's not stills or drug related, have him look at essential tremors. Nannette hand tremors Hi, everyone. This is , Lauri's husband. We hate to bother everyone with yet another question but the strangest thing just started. Lauri was sitting in the den watching television when she got my attention and told me to look. She was holding her right hand up and two fingers -- middle and ring -- were twitching rapidly. This is something that hasn't happened before. If she curls her fingers and holds her wrist straight, the trembling stops. If she holds her hand straight out, the fingers start trembling again. She can write with her hand (and can probably type; she hasn't tried yet), but just can't hold it out straight. Is this something normal for Still's patients? Thanks in advance, and again I'm sorry if this is another trivial question.
Guest guest
HI I don't know what meds she is taking but I take prednisone and it does have the tendency to give you the shakes and raise you hart rate. Fred
Guest guest
When I was teaching, before retirement, I was on pretty high pred, but sometimes I had to rest my hands someplace so no one would notice I was shaking. Also, when I met my friend, Barb, she was shaking very visibly. I can't say pred or disease. From Tom Kufahl My dearest darling , I miss you with every fiber of my being. Guest guest
Dear Mathew, First of all there are no trivial questions. Ask as many questions as you like. I have very mild Tremors I have always thought it must be the meds I am on. Since it is so mild I have never really thought about it too much. I also have very poor coordination and manual dexterity skills in my hands. I remember I was tested by DVR over 3 years a go and I was very shocked at my poor coordination and poor manual dexterity skills in my hands. I wish I could be of more help. Let me know if you find out any information on this. Thanks, jatw@...

Guest guest
Hi there! I had this before as well. My doctor explained " why " and I thought it made sense. When your body is swelling (i.e. the joints in your wrist) that puts pressure on other parts like your nerves. When the inflammation puts pressure on your nerves that can cause weird symptoms like trembling or the feeling like your hand is falling asleep. I actually understood this when she explained it to me - it made sense! I hope this helps! Jen P. This is just my experience, I'm sure there are different answers as well! Have a good night! hand tremors Hi, everyone. This is , Lauri's husband. We hate to bother everyone with yet another question but the strangest thing just started. Guest guest
, I have trembling, mostly in my right hand. They don't know why. Could be drugs and we switched from Relefin to Bextra to fix the problem. It is better, but I still have tremors. I had restless leg syndrome too but we discovered it was related to my diabetic medicines so we switched to 2 new ones and it went away. Now, I notice that if I have been doing something tiring with my right hand, it will trigger a tremble. (too much typing, holding the phone too long, cutting fresh veggies, etc) If I hold a pen, it stops. If I open my hand, let it rest, or try to type... tremors get worse. When I get insurance, I will have it checked out more thoroughly but for now, my doctors are aware and watching to see what happens. If it gets worse, insurance or not, it will be investigated. Guest guest
Hi Jen! That does make a lot of sense since right before it started happening I was getting my mom started crocheting a throw so I was using my wrist quite a bit. Since I'm not taking Prednisone (doesn't work for me) this must be the reason. It was pretty wild! It wasn't just a mild tremor. My two fingers were shaking like crazy! It went away after a couple of hours though. Thanks for all your help! :-) Lauri
Guest guest
> Hi All, Again, here I am, I have the positional and overuse muscle tremors and my thumbs just sort of jerk around by themselves a lot. I previously had attributed this to my extra rib, even though it has just worsened in the last 2 years but now , who knows, maybe it is the Stills????? >

My dad has Tremor so bad he can hardly write, and has been tested for Parkinson's Disease multiple times. Mine is just to the point I shake -especially when trying to grasp something. I am always breaking cups and dishes... My handwriting gets shaky... If I'm eating, my hands shake while holding or tearing food. My neurologist asked when my Dad's started, and I didn't know... but he said if my dad's started when he was, say, 40 -mine would start even sooner. (I'm 31. My dad is 62 and has had it as long as I can remember.) If you have this without a family history -I don't know if that's a big deal or not, or implant related...but you may want to ask your parents if they do it to help decide. Obviously --- stranger things are related to our implants than this, so I would NOT be surprised!!! Brig

Guest guest
Yes, it is Essential Tremor-also called Benign Tremor. I developed it about 3 or 4 years after I got my implants. I was seeing a neurologist at that time, and was taking something that began with an "M", but I don't remember the name of it. Took that for a few years, then stopped, and have not had a problemw ith it unless I'm nervous. That's why I was suprised when I woke up with it bothering me, and I had wondered if it was implant related.KissofSadness@... wrote: In a message dated 9/13/2006 4:44:55 PM Eastern Standard Time, leyna1964 writes: Several days ago, for two days straight, I had very noticeable hand tremors-more on my right than my left, but both were noticeable. Guest guest
I started getting that about 2 years ago. I've only been explanted for 4 months... i still have it, but it's much less severe. I'm praying that over time it will go away completely. I was completely healthy before implants, so i KNOW it's implant related. I'm only 27 years old! Guest guest
Leyna, my right hand and arm (a bit) used to shake when I was holding the phone up to my right ear. My granddaughter pointed it out to me one day by saying, " Grandma, are you nervous about something? Who were you talking to? " lol Come to think of it, it hasn't happened since explant! Hooray....probably related.
