Guest guest
Jonny Bowden, M.A., C.N. Q.Which diet plan is better -- the Carbohydrates Addict's Diet or the Atkins Diet? I have been doing the CAD diet for seven weeks now and have lost seven pounds, but I am struggling with the "reward meal." Knowing that there are "no limits" during this meal is causing problems for me. http://health.yahoo.com/health/partner/ivillage/nutrition_0.html
Guest guest
Thinking there are no limits on the reward meal is the problem. As I understand it: - eat no carbs for 2 of 3 meals - before the reward meal: start w/ 2 cups salad veggies - reward meal: eat 3 equal (size) portions of meat, veggies, starchy carbs - if you have seconds on reward meal, you must get 3 equal portions again. Doesn't sound like 'no limits' to me. Have you been doing something different? HJ ----- Original Message ----- Which diet plan is better -- the Carbohydrates Addict's Diet or the Atkins Diet? Guest guest
Atkins says if you leave Atkins diet, go to another diet... do not eat without watching what you eat. Carb Addicts say they are not for everyone; only true carb addicts. I don't think I am in that category. I don't want to binge (have a daily meal with no limit) and I sure want to snack and eat whenever I feel like it. I have enough time not eating and highly restricted on years of low-fat diets. I suggest you learn both diets well and if one works better FOR YOU, then follow it. I also don't like the complexity of Carb Addicts... I don't wheigh AT ALL so I sure couldn't handle changing my diet every day based on weight. But I suggest everyone read Carb Addicts, Protein Power, Suger Busters and every Atkins book you can find. I think this diet is SO EASY. 40->36 and working on 34's for Christmas, Mark - Re: The Real Scoop on the Atkins Diet vs. the Carbohydrate Addicts' Diet Thinking there are no limits on the reward meal is the problem.
