So are they saying to stop using the iodine after it stays on for 24 hours? Do you just steadily decrease your thryoid meds if you are already taking them? I'd like to stop taking mine, and just use iodine...well, as long as it doesn't break my face out like it normally does! I did dramatically decrease my meds a couple of years ago when I was doing a LOT of iodine. Then my doctor told me to stop taking it, and I went several months without it, and had to really increase my thyroid medicine again...guess that was my doctor's plan. lol I also notice my neck is HUGE in photos, when I don't use it. No doctor has ever said my neck was larger than normal though, but I can sure tell it in photos! I've been taking iodine/kelp supplements the last few days, and really feel a definite improvement in how quickly I think,

and my memory. I KNOW iodine is good, not bad for you!Tricia Trish <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: http://www.noaw.com/Iodine%20Def/tincture_of_iodine.htm Instructions for ApplicationUse applicator rod to apply Iodine to upper thigh or low abdomen (or any other area of skin where the Iodine is

visible) in a 3" square patch. Rotate the area of application each time you apply it. Apply as often as you notice that the Iodine has absorbed and the skin is clear. For instance, if absorption occurs in 2 hours, reapply immediately; if it occurs in 4 or 6 or 8 or 12 hours, reapply whenever you notice that the skin is clear. When you eventually notice a faded brown stain after 12 hours, check in another 12 hours for the stain. If your skin is clear after 24 hours, continue application once a day until stain is apparent after 24 hours. Discontinue application when you observe a faded stain at 24 hours after initial application. The objective of the frequent applications is to accomplish the 24 hours slight "stain" as quickly as possible, rather than to have to continue to apply over several months time.To be sure that normal Iodine levels are stable, check absorption again in one week. If stain is visible in 24 hours, your Iodine level remains normal. Because

stress of daily living can put a strain on your Thyroid, it is recommended that you recheck Iodine absorption every 3 months thereafter. Repeat the process described if it fades in 24 hours or less (in 1 week or 3 or more months). Messenger with Voice. Make PC-to-Phone Calls to the US (and 30+ countries) for 2¢/min or less.

Leyna,

According to my ND, the face breakout is a sign that you are using too much

iodine.

Kenda, But it happens if I use ANY iodine.....and the iodine spot I paint is gone within one hour! So how can it be that I'm using too much?Kenda Skaggs <skaggs@...> wrote: Leyna,According to my ND, the face breakout is a sign that you are using too muchiodine.Kenda> So are they saying to stop using the iodine after it stays on for 24 hours?> Do you just steadily decrease your thryoid meds if you are already taking> them? > > I'd

I can't answer that question. I wonder if there are other reasons that

cause the absorption of iodine so quickly.
