Angie margerine is a no no according to Dr Atkins. If the more scientifically

minded would like to explain, please do so, I'm not one of those ;-)

I switched to butter long before going on Atkins because of the taste and

because of the seriously bad trans-fatty-acids produced in margarine. Keep

in mind that oil (which margarine is made from) is liquid at room

temperature. To make it solid you have to " hydrogenate " it. In the process

those " trans-fats " are created. They are thought to be far worse for you

than the real butter. So I switched and just didn't use as much as I used

to. At the time the price of decent margarine was about the same as butter

also.
