Guest guest
Spyder, I have a girlfriend who weight is almost 400 pounds.A number of years ago she had her stomach stapled in a bet to lose weight, she lost the weight it almost killed her. Once she had it undone she gain all the weight back plus a little more. At this time she has diabetes, and was unable to give up all the food she loves. To help her get better control of her numbers, the doctor has put her on glyset, it stops her from absorbing all the carbs she eats. Its alpha-glucosidase inhibitor. It does give her gas and diarrhea for about 2 hours after she eats. She has learned to time this so she suffers these effects at home.Idon't believe this is an answer for everyone, but I know my friend is at this time unable to give up all the food is loves. This fact doesn't make her a bad person, just a person with a very big problem who happens to have diabetes. This is helping her to get her numbers down, and she is eating less, and learning better habits, for her diabetes. Right or wrong, some people just can't give up all the food , if it was that easy for them, no one I can think of would have a weight problem. Maybe this would be an answer for your friend.Hope this helps,D.J. may this find all well with you and yours,D.J.M.
