> For those of you low carb-ing, how much do you try to stick to each day?

For as long as I've been on this list (years), I've seen everything from

Atkins and Bernstein to 40 carbs per day, 60 carbs per day, 100 carbs per

day, as well as the ADA recommendations, including the exchange plan. And

from what I read, I think there are some who don't restrict their carbs at

all. I know this isn't particularly helpful, but it is the way it is. We

all have our own woe that work (hopefully) for us.

Myself, I'm moderate carbing at around 100 per day.

I seem to do around 100 grams of carbs a day. I eat salads and veggies, as

well as lean meats and low-fat cheeses. Fresh veggies dipped in spicy

guacamole and cannonballs (big olives with the pits in) are good snacks, as

are dill pickles. Cauliflower and broccoli are very low-carb, and green

beans are almost as good. They are good with melted cheese on them. Many eat

lower-carb than that, more like 20-40 grams. At that level, most of them are

in what is called " benign dietary ketosis, " meaning their bodies are burning

their own fat. Quite a bit of weight can be lost that way.

I'm moderate carbing, not technically low carbing. I have no carbs for

breakfast ( I found that if I started out with carbs, the cravings were much

worse throughout the day), then 15-30 grams each (low glycemic veggies)

lunch and dinner.
