Guest guest
I had a radical retropubic prostatectomy five weeks ago. My cancer was contained to my prostate, and the labs said that my margins are clean. So now, like many of you, I wait for that first PSA test in a couple months. One of my friends who also had the nerve sparing surgery was continent in about a month ... another took about three months ... another took over six ... at the five week mark, I'm OK through the night and for a couple hours in the morning ... but for the rest of the day, I'm still free flowing when it comes to urination ... I've been told it might be because I also had some bladder repair done during surgery. I'm looking forward to my appointment with my urologist next week ... and today I'm testing out Depends' " Guards for Men " . And now I'd like to start getting back on the old road bike and training for RAGBRAI and Tour De Kota this year. I'm wondering if any of you guys who have had surgery and who have been incontinent for a couple months afterwards have any suggestions for getting back into a biking schedule and how you have handled incontinence and leakage?
