Guest guest
T'was The Night Before ChristmasNot a Sign of Baby Jesus T'was the night before Christmasand all through the townNot a sign of Baby Jesuswas anywhere to be found. The people were all busywith Christmas time choresLike decorating, and baking, and shopping in stores. No one sang "Away in a manger,no crib for a bed".Instead, they sang of Santadressed-up in bright red.Mama watched Martha ,Papa drank beer from a tap.As hour upon hourthe presents they'd wrapWhen what from the TVdid they suddenly hear? But an ad.. which told themof a big sale at Sears. So away to the mallthey all flew like a flashBuying things on creditand others with cash! And, as they made their way homeFrom their trip to the mall,Did they think about Jesus?Oh, no... not at all.Their lives were so busywith their Christmas time thingsNo time to rememberChrist Jesus, the King. There were presents to wrapand cookies to bake. How could they stop and rememberwho died for their sake?To pray to the Saviorthey had no time to stop.Because they needed more timeto "Shop till they dropped!"On Wal-mart! On K-mart!On Target! On Penney's!On Hallmark! On Zales!A quick lunch at Denny'sFrom the big stores downtownto the stores at the mallThey would dash away, dash away, and visit them all!And up on the roof, there arose such a clatterAs grandpa hung icicle lightsup on his brand new step ladder. He hung lights that would flash. He hung lights that would twirl.Yet, he never once prayed to Jesus...the Light of the World. Christ's eyes... how they twinkle!Christ's Spirit... how merry!Christ's love... how enormous! All our burdens... He'll carry! So instead of being busy, overworked, and uptightLet's put Christ back inChristmas and enjoysome good nights!Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all my Friends !
