Today we went for our son's weekly therapy/mapping/audiology session

(basically we do whichever of these needs doing). His audiologist told me

she had just received something she knew I'd be interested in and handed me

some papers. The cover letter was from Cochlear Corp and I thought I'd share

that info with you.

Cochlear Corp. has received regulatory clearance for CIS and ACE in the

United States and Canada.

This does not mean that you can now run to your implant center and ask for

the new coding strategies. The software for these strategies has not yet

been distributed by Cochlear Corp. In addition, the Audiologists will need

training in mapping and modifying maps using these new strategies. The

schedule for the workshops to do this has not yet been released.

So, if you can't get it yet, why am I bothering to tell you this? I felt

that for those who are interested in these new strategies, now is the time

to being looking into them, asking questions of those who have tried them,

and making a decision as to whether it's something you want to try.
