Guest guest
UK; Maybe sharing some of my daughters symptoms, meds and improvements will help you. My daughter Kari, was diagnosed with FMS in 1995 and Chiari/cervical stenois in Sept. 99 she is 11 wks post-op for Standard decompression (chiari surgery ) and laminectomy of C1-2. 1)She still takes the guaifenisen-orally 3 times/day for the ridges and Painful " nodules " she says they have helped elimiate the tight ridges. 3)3+ yrs of meds caused lots of stomach problems..she takes Prilosec for this one pill at night and quit taking the non-narcotic pain pill calledUltram (which her gastrointerologists felt causes gastro problems) 4) BEFORE SURGERY she took Precose-1 pill at first bite of food -Diagnosed w/Reactive hypoglycemia(per doc instructions-tracked her blood sugar count at home for 1 wk by testing (w/diabetic test kit) before & within ten minutes of eating...her sugar would go up first then DROP to 30's & 40's, Symptoms: sweats, heart racing, dizziness --she too would wake up at night & needed to drink orange juice or something sweet the shakes would go away and her heart rate would calm) AFTER SURGERY - she NO LONGER needs this medication at all...she has not had another episode of Reactive hypoglycemia since surgery!!! B/4 surgery she also had big problems w/balance...tripped alot fell alot, & used a cane for balance - AFTER SURGERY-SHE NO LONGER USES A CANE! B/4 surgery: She also had problems with ear pain, eye sight changes(Horner syndrome-usually brought on by some type of truama to the brain and back of head/neck injury -in my daughter case(whiplash) Eyes are improving ear pain is gone..hearing loss improved too. Hope this helps Dori Mom of Kari-23 y/o 11 wks post-op
