That's a tough question, each child and family is different. My 4-1/2 yo

son has a severe/severe-profound loss and is very verbal. In school they

use PSE, simultaneous with speaking ( " sim-com " ). While this method is not

" politically correct " these days, it's all that's available to us and it

seems that my son is doing well with it. So with him, we sign PSE at home

while speaking.

As far as classes, there are no formal classes here in PSE, so I take ASL

classes. It's not difficult to take the ASL signs and use them in English

word order.

That's what's working for us.
