Guest guest
WOW! I can hardly believe the post about the shunt! It's amazing that it would be brought up here and I'm a member of the group! Who would have thought? Anyway...It sounds to me like what your friend is experiencing is hydrocephalus. If she has complaints of headaches, please know she is NOT kidding! They are extremely painful! I know this personally because three weeks after my implants, I had to have emergency brain surgery and what they wanted to do was put a shunt in. I said NO WAY! Not after I just paid thousands to have my chest done! (the tube would have been visible under my skin running from the back of my head down the neck and right across my chest! Are you kidding? I didn't end up getting one, but only because at the time there was a new procedure being tested out and I was one of the guniea pigs. It worked out great for me...plus no tube that needs to be changed out every few years! Brain surgery every few years? Take a moment and think about how risky that is by itself.... Anyway, I'm not sure where you are, but I can tell you more about the procedure if you would like. The doctors who do it are in Orlando, Pennsylvania, California and Canada.
