Guest guest
Ladies, Maybe now is the time if you haven't already to send Oprah letters about the horrors we have all experienced with either our silicone or saline implants. Not to mention the children. Someone needs to point Dr. Kolb out to her just like people magazine did. I know their are other great PS but this is the heart of Dr. Kolb's practice helping us that are horribly ill from implants. Plus she was ill from them herself. Just a thought. Penni How Men Reallly Feel about breast implants Just a forewarning, that I have not read this article yet! But I was standing in line at the grocery store and saw the headlines for this article in O, Oprah's magazine. Thought I'd check it out. http://www.oprah.com/health/beauty/health_beauty_200607_fake.jhtml Okay, let's see what Oprah's huge popularity will do with this one! Patty Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
---Penni, excellent idea. I'm really disappointed in her...she calls herself spiritual??? It seems as though the money took over. I am personally going to email her and ask if she'd like to do a " counter " article with the TRUTH behind implants. Take care & lots of love, Sunny In , " Penni Pitre " <penniquilts@...> wrote: > > Ladies, > > Maybe now is the time if you haven't already to send Oprah letters about the horrors we have all experienced with either our silicone or saline implants. Guest guest
Interesting . . . the site offers a place to send comments to the show or magazine . . . I hope everyone jumps in here! Guest guest
Here's what I wrote in the comments section of Oprah's online magazine. I chose " ideas for a show. " I dashed it off, and upon re-read, I realize I did not mention anything about the suffering our ruptured silicone sisters have gone through. I guess my angle was the " safe " saline implants and the pervasive attitudes about them. I also realize upon re-read, that I should have said more about how health is often slow to come back. I was trying to impress on them that health improvement is clear upon removal of implants so I stressed the often rapid improvement. I hope I gave them some food for thought, anyway. I think every woman on this list, and their spouses, should write to Oprah through the online form. How about it? Think of all the people we could reach. " How about a show that exposes the many, many health problems that often result from breast implants -- yes, even the " safe " saline ones? Problems include many autoimmune diseases -- lupus, thyroiditis, reumatoid arthritis, scleroderm, fibromyalgia, and many other problems. I can put you in touch with hundreds of women who have the same symptoms, who have all been told by docs that it is " in your head. " There are now surgeons who specialize in removing implants and treating resulting health issues. I'd like to get the word out to women of all ages.Breast implants are not safe. I have had my saline implants 11 mos. and 2 weeks, and they are coming out on July 14th, even though they look great. I no longer work at my job, and am in chronic pain, have been to doc after doc, including cardiologists, rheumatologists, primary care, acupuncturists. Coincidence, you say? Not when I have met up with many women across the US with the exact symptoms. Most get measurably better ( improved bloodwork, reduced body pain, ability to work again) once the implants are removed, sometimes within days. Often such " safe " saline implants, which are encased in silicone, remember, are filled with mold, fungus, and baceria. There is a pathologist in Canada who specializes in studying removed implants. I read a story about a woman who had a lymph node removed along with her saline implants -- there was silicone that had migrated into the lymph node. One Dr. in Atlanta removed implants from a woman who became debilitated -- reduced IQ,( 50!) brain lesions, in a wheelchair. She is now improved enough to write her own email once in a while, and she had her implants out 30 days ago. ( Her mother has been writing for her). I just watched an episode of Dr. 90210 where a 17 year-old girl got breast implants, and I was disgusted at the cavalier attitude she and her mother and her surgeon had about such a big decision. I am afraid that is the pervasive attitude -- that they are safe, feel good, and all about how they look to others and feel to your man. It's not. They are dangerous. I called one surgeon for a removal consult and talked with his secretary. She asked me why I would removed such new saline implants and I told her I was ill. She became defensive and said, " Well, there is no proof that implants make you sick. " I disagreed and offered to send her some research. She argued with me once again. I told her I had spoken with many women with the same problems I have. Then she broke down and asked for information. She had saline implants put in 4 years ago, and 2 years ago was diagnosed with Lupus. Oprah is one of the most powerful bearers of information in the world. God bless her for it! Can she help us get the word out there? " > > Interesting . . . the site offers a place to send comments to the show or magazine . . . Guest guest
For some reason, I can't find this link and have looked at the article twice. So are you guys just sending it thru the email contact...??? > > Donna, > > The article has a link to a page where you can send a 2000 character message to Oprah . . . > > By all means contact her! . . . However, don't get your hopes up. Women have repeatedly tried to get her to spotlight the problems . . . I'm think there's too much money as stake for her to go public. > > Rogene > > > Re: Re: How Men Reallly Feel about breast implants > > > Can we send a letter of our story to Ophra??????? I will if you all think this would help. I would think if Ophra got Dr. Kolb on the show that would warn a lot of women. She is for sure not afraid to say, implants are making us sick. Let me know if I can help out. > > Donna >
Guest guest
Rogene, I emailed them also. I had to delete a LOT of what I wanted to say to fit it into the message and have them accept it. I am not happy with it..as it left out the silicone issues and the legal and historical issues I had in there....but at least it is somehing. (I had to delete so much pertinent data)...and was trying to find something that would pique their interest so they would pursue it. To Oprah..... There is a mysterious illness that has no voice in America. That illness is called " saline breast implants'. The initial symptoms of saline implants are not such that the patient automatically thinks to herself " must be these dog gone implants. The shell of saline implants is silicone based. It has been proven that the shell of saline implants degrades and that the macrophages attached themselves, tearing away parts of the shell and in some cases routing it to the lymph system. It has been proven that mold, fungus and bacteria can grow both inside and outside the implant. It has been proven the valve of saline implants can leak or rupture during a mammogram or a chiropractic visit. The saline bags used for IV's in a hospital have expiration dates. Why not saline implants? The dessicant placed in the packaging of some foods to keep moisture out is silicone/silica based. So is the shell of saline implants. Could this be why most of us with saline implants that have problems also have extremely dry skin and thirst. Those contemplating saline implants need to do their homework. But how is anyone going to know they need to do this homework unless the message gets out to do so???. The point is for woman to be able to have the information so they can make an informed choice. Imagine those that never do connect the dots. > > Donna, > > I hope every one joins in . . . When it comes from the heart, it can't be wrong! > > I left a message . . . but it was more in the lines that there is a problem that needs exposing. > > Rogene > > > Re: Re: How Men Reallly Feel about breast implants > > > Rogene, > > Maybe I should do that and Penni and and I know a few others who used Dr. Kolb and we should focus on a wonderful doctor who saved our lives. We all shared most of the same symptoms. I would love to hear your input Rogene, Penni and ???????? > > Donna >
Guest guest
Thanks for the article. It was very interesting reading and from a male's point of view--it seemed honest. I think it really hit the nail on the head. Especially how it changed how women felt about themselves..and that was where the good came in..since most admitted the implants did not feel natural and could be a nuisance. If more men who like any breast --small or large--would speak up--there wouldn't be so many of us feeling inadequate. Hugs, kathy > > Just a forewarning, that I have not read this article yet!
