Guest guest
Here is another link on the copper in amalgams issue...easier to read. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amalgam Here's the glaring statement: Current dental amalgams contain copper to eliminate the gamma-2 phase of the silver-mercury-tin alloy. The gamma 2 phase is weaker than the other phases so a high copper, low gamma-2 dental amalgam has superior strength. My question is, " what is high, as in high copper? What percentage? " It sounds good from a mechanical standpoint, but how about from a medical standpoint? Andy Cutler, PhD wrote a book about amalgam illness, and I believe he also discusses the involvement of copper in it. Patty > > Rogene, > Did they mention where the high copper levels came from? > > There is some concern not only over the mercury in amalgam fillings, but more recent amalgams (as in the last decade I believe) have also used a higher ratio of copper in them! In fact, these amalgams are now 30% copper and 70% mercury, a double whammy. There is reason to be concerned for anyone who is getting cavities filled with amalgam, both from mercury exposure and copper exposure. > http://www.mercuryexposure.org/index.php?page_id=18 > Patty
