Had my explant on Monday

This is Carole I posted a while back that I was trying to get an

explant done if Tricare (military) approved it. They did and I had

it done on Monday. It was not a bad surgery and I was out shopping

the next day. I stayed in my RV nearby the dr's office until today

(sat) and drove home. I stayed in my RV while I was there and sewed

and took naps and shopped a little. I am feeling fine body wise and

I am not too sore. My left side, the one that had the precancer

problems and surgeries looks horrible, bruised and it is bigger than

the other side. The nipple is sunk in and seems to be attached to

something inside the breast so it will not hang down like the other

side. The other side looks like it did after nursing my babies 10

years ago. before the implants. saggy but normal. My friends and I

joked and said I was back in the banana boob club. I am concerned

about the bad side. I have a follow up in 2 wks. Hopefully it will

get a little better by then. When I got home there was a letter from

Tricare saying they are not going to pay. The doctor said it was

approved. So I guess that will be a battle. I don't know if they can

reconstruct that funky boob or not. I tried on a million bras today.

I found one that makes them look pretty good under a t shirt. I am

wearing a sport type for now and a bandage until the swelling is

better. I did try the water bra at walmart, that was pretty good

too, but it was kind of heavy and I wondered what would happen if it

broke. humm. Well that's my update. I'll keep you posted as I get on

a bit with all of this. Carole
