Guest guest
Hi Chelle, Just wanted to tell you about a federal program I was told every state has. In CT it is called Children with Special Health Care Needs, it is a medicaid program, also referred to as Title V. If you qualify, this program will pay for any medical expences that you incur which is not covered under you health insurance. It also states that " if your insurance pays greater than or equal to the medicaid allowance, you are not to be billed for the balance, they are to write the balance off, if you insurance pays less than the medicaid allowance, than CSHCN is billed " . Like I said I was told EVERY state has this, I hope I was given the correct information, it may be worth looking into. For the HA and if you have alot of other medical bills. I would contact your state department of health. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Have a question. I have been doing a lot of research and found several agencies that will help with purchase of hearing aids. What I am trying to figure out is should I do one at a time and wait for responses before moving onto the next one? Or should I just place as many applications in and see what I get from each and take the best? It is an area I am so uncertain about. Our insurance will not pay for them and we can't afford them out-of-pocket either. Need advice.... Chelle

If it were me, I think I'd do a couple at a time, but no more. I hope that one day all insurances will cover hearing aids, but till they do, it's our kids that have to suffer. Have you checked out my page on hearing aid funding? http://members.tripod.com/listenup/haidfund.htm Hugs, Kay
Guest guest
Chelle, Just my .02 worth, but I'd send off more than one at a time. Some take longer to respond than others, and you could be getting info on one while waiting for another to reply. Kay has a section on her website that is a good place to look for hearing aid funding - the agency we got ours through is on there -- I'm beginning to wonder if there's anything not on there???? We paid for Matt's first aid, but unfortunately he threw it out the bus window & we couldn't find it! We did have insurance and it was replaced, but when he did it a second time it was not covered, and we were really stuck because we had just had our twins and were very strapped after 2 baby beds, furniture, formula, diapers, doctors, etc. Matt's sweet audiologist, who works for the school district, contacted the Tx health dept. and explained our situation. I wrote a letter to them saying why we couldn't pay for the aid right then, but couldn't bear the thought of Matt not having one - Matt received his new aid within a week!! Good luck to you, Jana
