Guest guest
Hi Doug Congratulations on your success! I have found that drinking the mixture in one go is the best way...but I only use half a cup of olive oil and one large grapefruit along with the Epsom salts and it works just fine. Maybe if you tried less olive oil. I use the pulp of the grapefruit, too and shake it really well to emulsify the oil. Then, when it's all down (usually in one go) I clean my teeth with some lovely herbal toothpaste and pop off to bed. I would certainly try again with a lot less olive oil...especially as you had such great results... Dax
Guest guest
Hi Doug, It is my opinion that you used way, way, too much oil! Oh, my, just the thought turns my stomach and makes me feel green! You asked for some other options. Have you looked at Dr. Cabot's site? http://www.liverdoctor.com I have all her books and have tried most of her products. They are good products in my opinion. In her liver book, she has a liver cleansing diet which is designed to clean the liver slowly. She also has several options for cleaning the liver quickly as with the olive oil/grapefruit combo. Although, I think even her recipes don't use anywhere near that amount of oil. Hope you never feel like that again, I can only imagine and what I imagined was horrible!!! :-) ~Karma http://loaves-n-fishes.com http://www.karma.awarenesshealth.com > After a month of reading this web site and that web site and getting some advice along the way I finally, did my first gallbladder flush. Guest guest
Sounds like Dr. flush. Every 15 minutes, a lot of oil, etc. Try a lighter cleanse. Dr. Hulga is the one I use at www.curezone.com >> ________________ I agree, Barry. Dr. ' flush is good, but it may be too much for someone just starting. Dr. 's cleanse works wonders, even for those of us doing it a long time. Susie
Guest guest
Hi, I agree with Dale. Dr. Hulda 's cleanse w/epsom, uses only 1/2 cup olive oil mixed with 3/4 cup grapefuit juice. Two things I've found: 1. se organic extra virgin olive oil...goes down and stays down better, and 2. use a straw. Take a big breath, and get it all down as fast as possible, with one breath (don't breathe through your nose until it's all down). Actually, I find the epsom/water harder to get down, than the oil/grapefruit. I hope you aren't forever discouraged. I have found that it gets easier to do the cleanse with time...that is, I've done it 6 times now, and it has gotten successively easier to do. If you mix olive oil and pink grapefruit juice in equal amounts then it won't taste too bad at all and mixes much better with the oil than lemons. Here is my recipe (I like to use a lot of oil just to be sure it's going to do the best it can to flush things out: not eating for 4 hours and no fat all day. Then 3 1/2 TBS Epsom Salt in 10 oz water. Go to bathroom when you have to, and you will! Hour and half later drink one of 4 drinks spaced 10-15 minutes apart or however soon you can comfortably down them: 1/2 cup olive oil and 1/2 cup fresh grapefruit squeezed and strained. I think it uses about 6 grapefruits(1 and a half each drink). Lie as much as possible on your right side between drinks. At any time you feel nauseous suck on a peppermint or chew a piece of mint gum (works wonders). Then go to bed on right side knees up and try to stay that way as much as possible for 4-5 hours. Then you can sleep on back or right side rest of night. 8 hours after you go to bed, drink another 3 1/2 TBS Epsom Salt in 10oz of water and go back to bed or whatever you want to do, but realx. Stones will pass all day. If you feel the need you can drink a weaker solution of ES in a couple of hours. And you can eat light low/no fat meals later, starting with fruit or light soup. You will have the runs all day as the stones and sludge pass. Now I'm not an expert at this having done one successful and having given my husband one like the above recipe, but I do know it works. .. of Dewberry Hill " People are like stain glass windows; they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is alight within. Guest guest
Dale, I've used the recipes that call for a pint of olive oil. It doesn't taste bad if mixed with grapefruit juice and taken in 4 drinks , 15 minutes apart. Does anyone have info that the pint of olive oil recipe is bad for you? It sure does work. And I use more epsom salts but only one drink 1 1/2 before oil drink and one drink in am. Feedback? of DH It was.............way.............too much oil to try to use. Guest guest
Yes, you can double Hulga's oil to 2 full cups of oil/juice and drink it all at once or even space it 1 cup each 15-20 minutes apart lying down between the 2 drinks. I've recently written about what I do, but if you didn't read it and are interested, I will post it again. There are those who would say that I would get more stones out if I used the ES and I'm willing to accept that as a possibility. I am still getting a lot out without them and I am just not willing to deal with the diarrhea caused by the ES. Besides, it's just nasty stuff and I'd rather not drink it. I tried it that way in the my first few flushes and I'm happy with the way things go now. That's just my personal preference. However, if you DO choose to use the Epsom Salts, the one thing that I found that helped to make it more palatable is adding some fresh squeezed lemon juice. That really helped get it down. Just thought I'd add that suggestion. in health,
