Hello all I do know about this discovery, I watch and read and reaserch

everything on ALS since my big brother Mike died from it. This really is

interesting, but the truth is the Neurons are already in position to be

destroyed before the virus. My sister-in law still works for the ALS

foundation and I read up on it all, as does my mother. Unfortunately they are

still far from pinpointing the exact cause and effect of ALS, just thought

Id let you know, I am ALWAYS current on that particular issue for obvious

reasons, and ANY connections to disorders such as Chiari anyway, its really

not in the same dynamics, but can and does have some of the similar symptoms

as far as Swallowing, spacicty, weakness, but the progression is insidious

compared to other Nuero/Neuron Disease's and Disorders in its rapid

Progression. Chiari is not caused by a virus plain and simple, that I am

conivnced of personaly speaking (you dont have to agree, I know what I know)

after 4 years of researching it, and researching ALS for 5 years to make any

connections.As far as MS, it also runs its own Genetic Map so to speak, and

the connections to the Brain and Spine Plaques to ACM also have yet to be

discovered, yet we do have members who have TRUE, MS, without a doubt, along

with TRUE Chiari (not always defined by Tonisls/Herniations, ect..). I do

believe one can have enough Defective Genes in their " Family Pool " ,

If all in Neurological family, and or Skull/Brain Malformations, and its

obviously entirely possible to have 2 or more separate Nuero disorders from

different defective Genes, but any of there relations have yet to be

determined. I pray for us all that they do figure them all!!!! Out, and

sooner as opposed to later so we and our future generations can have the

benefits of all the " New Technology out there " , WE really are fortunate to

live in this time in many ways.

Hi all,

This has nothing to do with chiari. But I thought some may be interested in

this article.

It is about recent research that has identified a viral connection to Lou

Gehrig's disease. Maybe they will be able to find a viral connection to MS

and other diseases. They have been looking for viral connections to so many

chronic illnesses.

Thankyou Maureen very much, miss him all the time. I want you to know that Im

actualy very pleased about your post, being ALS is such a diffrent topic, my

eyes perked up, to me any time somthing affects someone you love even if its

a diffrent disorder or disease, its important, at least to me, and Im always

on the " Horn " for try to figure them both, for myself, and for the Memory of

someone I loved dearly.

Hi all,

Just to let you know I was not implying that Chiari was caused by virus. We

know that it is not. I was just sharing information about viral connection

and ALS. I know that there are many illnesses for which researchers are

looking at viral connections. And MS is one. CFIDS is another. Whether a

virus is a cause or after effect will hopefully be determined.
