Guest guest
I was just wondering this, , as I have talked to another woman who isn't sure if she has capsules left in or not. I wonder if an MRI would tell? > > What type of test shows if all the capsule is truly gone from implants ? Guest guest
I have had 12 mammograms over the years. No one ever told me that it could cause my implants to rupture, nor did they ever tell me that it would make it more difficult to detect breast cancer! It was not at all painful for me...but then again, I had next to no feeling in my breasts anyway, because of my implants. I'm due to be explanted in 8 days, and have a mammogram scheduled I think in October. I hope I'm healed enough to do it by then-I will probably rescedule it for later though.GMCLADY98@... wrote: What type of test shows if all the capsule is truly gone from implants ? Guest guest
This woman had two sets of implants - first silicone, then saline. The last set she had explanted and capsules removed. But I wonder if that meant the surgeon removed the first capsules, too? Her first set ruptured badly inside her chest. After 10 years, she still is sick with autoimmune illness. I wish I knew what to suggest to her. I wish there were a way that she could know if capsules were left inside her. > > Molly, I had a friend whose capsules were left in...in her search to > find out if there was indeed still something there (this was somewhat > after her surgery) she had MRI which showed nothing. Guest guest
Yes, . The path report from the second surgery did say 'capsules'. But not from the first surgery. So I wonder if the capsules from the first implants were removed, or just the capsules from the second implants. > > Pathology report would also give info about the tissues and other > materials removed! > >
Guest guest
My pathology report said nothing unusual. They didn't open the implants. I sent mine off to Dr. Blais in Toronoto for indepth study. When I saw them in the Pathology Lab, they were all dark yellow, the left one was misshapen and they both contained very dark, blackish grey substance in them. Yukky! I'm curious to hear what Dr. Blais finds. Guest guest
Thanks so much, Patty, for the comprehensive list! I just read an article about Parkinsons and MS, due to my numbness symptoms, I've been researching alot in the past few days. Adjusting the spinal column is also very important, as sll the nerves that affect the organs and make them function properly are attached to the spine. For those who are shy of chiropractors (they saved my life, treating me for 4 neck injuries--Doctors wrote me off to not live past a 2nd injury.) Physical therapy, massage therapy, keeping the nerves unpinched is crucial. Just a note on the physical side of things. Guest guest
I am not sure what type of tests can actually show that all of the capsule is truly gone. Lynda, do you know? Guest guest
No, only the surgical and pathological reports and trusting the doc, darn it. Guest guest
Which means it is just that much more important to make sure this aspect of explant is thoroughly discussed so the doctor understands we accept no compromise on capsule removal, and the doctor doing the surgery be utterly trustworthy, right?!! Sheesh, it's just so wrong that we have to fight to get good and proper care when taking them out....
