Guest guest
How sad for you all that this happened. My son Matt (9 yrs old) has a bilateral loss, moderate to severe. Reason unknown. Everyone's story is a little different, but there's great support here, --you've come to a good place :-) LuAnn >My name is Ricketts and I am Hannah's father. Guest guest
Hi , My son has a severe-to-profound hearing loss as a result of meningitis as a newborn. Not quite the same situation as yours, since we never knew him as a child with perfect hearing, but if I can answer any questions, ask away. (yes, I am on the list, just rather quiet) justin ricketts wrote: > My name is Ricketts and I am Hannah's father. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the list! My 4-1/2 year old son was diagnosed with a severe (now severe-profound) hearing loss at two years of age. He appears to have been born with his loss. Good luck as you start on this journey! Guest guest
, My son was also 2 when he lost his hearing. It was a result of bacterial meningitis. It was very hard for us to face at first.......I know how you feel. But now, 3 years later, things do not look so bad. There was a time when i never thought our lives would be " normal " again - and I longed for the " normal " problems that I thought were so big prior to losing his hearing. But now, our lifes are normal again - it is just what I call a " new normal " . now has a coclear implant, and he is doing quite well with it. Of course, he cannot hear the same as a child without a hearing loss, but, compared to what I thought 3 years ago - I think he is doing great. Feel free to ask any question - no matter what it is. I am pretty slow reading mail - usually at least one week behind - but i will get to it and be sure to answer you as soon as I can. Hang in there........ Guest guest
Angie - welcome to the list and a great group of people - you'll laugh, you'll cry, and, hopefully, you'll lose. 8 pounds is a wonderful start and more than most people start with - you should be humbly proud! /TX > hi > > i am new to the list i am finishing 2nd week of induction and have lost > 8lbs on the first week but i am made some errors on the 2nd (too much > aspartame, and had a little too much carbos) so i am staying on the > induction another week to get it right. i think me and the induction > will get to know each other really well (LOL) > > i live in upstate ny and i would be interested if someone could tell me > where to buy low carbo foods in the albany area. and if someone could > send me a bread machine recipes with a few variations for flavor. > > angie
