Guest guest
Ah, that last statement didn't work for me Rogene! I have to say, I've seen lots of women on our group who were active in sports, fitness, healthy eating and healthy lifestyles and still got sick very quickly. I don't think we can make a statement that maintaining lifelong health practices allows us to tolerate implants longer. And in fact, I've known of women who abuse their bodies mercilessly and still have implants without the devastating health consequences that some of us have faced. On the contrary, I think a healthy immune system may be one that attacks implants much quicker...hard to say. As I just posted, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason with which to estimate when women might become ill. It is just too unpredicatable. It's like playing Russian Roulette. It would be great if they could test her for sensitivity to any materials used . . . but I doubt they would. Chances are she will do well with the shunt. The main thing is to be aware of what problems may occur . . . and to maintain excellent health practices to keep one's body as healthy as possible. It appears that the women who have maintained life-long good health practices tolerate implants longer than those who don't. Rogene Messenger with Voice.
