Guest guest
Jeanne, I forwarded you message to Zuckerman in D.C. . . . You might try contacting her yourself. If anyone knows of a doctor there, it would be her. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne: Hopefully you'll find a doctor in D.C. who can work with you and help you heal from neurotoxic illness. I also had my explant in Jan. 05 and, like you, still have some symptoms associated with mold exposure. I'd looked into making a trip to Baltimore to see Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker, but he charges something like $850 for an office visit, which involves a lot of testing, which I didn't really need; he basically just prescribes Cholestyramine. Have you tried contacting him for a recommendation? It sounds like you've already contacted Dr. Kolb in Atlanta (you said Dr. Feng?), who uses this treatment, and in addition is knowledgeable about detoxing from implant illness, which Dr. Shoemaker probably isn't. I wish I'd gone to Dr. Kolb originally for my explant but I had to go to my explanting surgeon as I was too deathly ill to wait to get in to any of the doctors recommended here. Of course, he left some scar tissue on my ribs which I still worry about. I finally made the trip to see Dr. Kolb in Atlanta a couple of months ago. She tested me and found I still had remnents of biotoxic illness, was sensitive to mold, and chemically sensitive. She also thinks I need an additional surgery (I've already had 7) as she'd like to biopsy a couple of large fibrous lumps and she'd like to remove my lymph nodes as she thinks they contain silicone (I had silicone implants prior to saline). She recommended taking Butyrate, getting an ionic foot bath and The Patient's Detox Book by Kane, which I think is only available online or by phone (http://www.detoxxbox.com), and involves ordering some extremely expensive supplements. However, I've noticed some improvement since I've been on Cholestyramine and been following the above treatment--the weird pain in my left rib has lessened and my feet hardly ever burn anymore. Good luck. Kate Rogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: Jeanne, I forwarded you message to Zuckerman in D.C. . . . You might try contacting her yourself. If anyone knows of a doctor there, it would be her. Guest guest
Kate, I am glad to hear you are experiencing some improvement! I hope it keeps progressing for you. What is Cholestrymine? What exactly does it do? It is prescription only? Keep us updated! I am hopeful that you will get through all this completely and get your life back. I've heard of alot of women with the burning feet, and so it's good to know you can get over that!
